He also had offers from the likes of Tenn, Oregon, Penn State, and Va Tech among some other pretty nice P4 offers. Not sure what happened at Colorado to make him get dismissed after 2023 and end up at GA State, but this pick up is better than it appears just looking at it on the surface level (but he had a productive 2025 szn stat wise and graded out almost as well as that Sigler kid we were initially in on by PFF - same conference btw). Like this get - relatively low risk, but seemingly pretty high upside potential for a pure depth piece. Hopefully his age/CFB journey have helped him mature past whatever issues he was dealing with in the past. *Also, I have trust in this man:

I’m hopeful that Wilson and Smith take a big step this year. Probably will be the main thing I’ll be watching for this offseason. I’m not super geeked about a kid from Georgia state

You got to like this guys attitude. Seems highly motivated as well. He has been to some P4 schools, so going to Georgia State and getting a chance to get back could be a big motivator here as well. In today’s cfb you pretty much need to pay your top level starters and then try to keep whomever else you can. If someone isn’t worth as much as they think they should that isn’t top level then adios. Of course I think you have to be really smart about it as well, because can you get someone at equal value for cheaper then the guy your letting walk as well.

Love how much they’re betting on the culture on defense. Take high upside guys and hope they assimilate to what’s going right inside the building.
