Reading the tea leaves…

I’ve got a bad feeling Michigan is going to be left settling, and that likely means Jedd Fisch or a Tommy Rees type. Hopefully some other options pop up. The timing around DeBoer feels suspect. If he beats Oklahoma, I think that effectively eliminates him from consideration, and in the meantime Michigan risks losing multiple key players to the transfer portal while this drags on. Dillingham feels like he may simply be leveraging Michigan interest to secure a better deal at Arizona State. The most recent messaging from Barrie and others seems to indicate things are trending in that direction. Minter? I’d love that hire, but it comes with its own set of concerns. You’re essentially signing up for the annual NFL flight risk every January. On top of that, he wouldn’t realistically be available until mid-to-late January unless something is announced before January 2nd—and even then, his primary focus would understandably be on the Chargers. If the reported list of four candidates is accurate, that leaves us with Jedd. He’s probably better than Sherrone, but it still feels like settling rather than landing a true first-choice option.

Also I'm not opposed to another coach popping up. There are plenty of fantastic G5 coaches that would be wonderful here

It’s interesting that people that have nothing to do with anything have bad feelings about how it will end.

Fisch and Rees are not in the same stratosphere of hires.

Yea we should just shut down the program. I doubt anybody good will be interested in a lot of money, Bryce underwood, a school that won a natty two years ago and NIL backing.

Jedd wants it and his ceiling is too low for what we want here. Period.

Why are people so anti-Jedd? He wouldnt be my first choice but hes miles ahead of Sherrone and if the donors like him we can be right back in the hunt. Jake Butt and other guys that played for him vouch for his character and football mind. I hope if hes the choice we dont see meltdowns and tantrums here, but I'm sure we will.

I don’t think Bama beats Oklahoma. Simpson is obviously limited and they don’t run the ball well.

lolz… Tommy Rees’ is name is only out there because his agent is floating it. If Michigan settles for him, I’m noping the hell out.

I actually think Deober would agree to be UM's coach and we just agree to let him continue to coach in the playoffs (assuming he beats OU) It wouldn't be ideal, but we would secure an elite coach still.

If Warde is leading the search we are in for a disappointing result. Not sure why I ever got my hopes back up.

If we end up with Tommy Rees after our fist two options were KDB & Dillingham I’m going to have the worst case of blue balls ever.
