Basically, there’s been very little publicity here (print or tv) about this tourney, it’s all been about the F1 race, local pro teams, UNLV and HS playoffs. Article confirms that college b-ball as we once knew and loved it is RIP thanks to NIL. Good luck this week.

I'm sure you've heard the expression-- Love it or leave it -- why don't you leave it if you can't adjust to the reality of the changes.

That is one hell of a field. A Sweet 16 level that we find ourselves in. Due to Ace and Dylan we got an invite and it continues year to year. Great mixture of conferences . Becoming the premier tourney in the country.

Interesting that RU and Tenn. first played on March 15, 1969, a 67-51 Postseason NIT win for Tennessee at MSG. The teams met again 23 years later in the opening game of the season in the Preseason NIT at the RAC on November 19, 1992. Allan Houston led Tenn. to an 87-79 win.

Yup forgot about this game probably cause the season sputtered in the end. What an awesome crowd.

That was when the RAC was alive. What happened to it. Did the world get soft?

I believe Tennessee has 1 possibly 2 players out for this game Most notably Estrella who avg 17.9/8.3 in first 3 games

Can’t disagree. Locally however the sponsors haven’t done a very good job thanks to Formula 1 and other events.

Incredible start for RU, as we jumped out to a 19-6 lead, with Mike Jones scoring our first 12 points. That year I had seasons tickets in the 300 section, but for this game I was gifted floor seats by a friend. The RAC was rockin!

A good part of that is the constant barrage of mechanized “music” being piped in. No room for the fans anymore. That and the team is bad.

2019-2020 sounded pretty close the seton hall, Illinois and Maryland wins that year are 3 of the loudest games I’ve attended in my life

[HEADING=2]Can Rutgers basketball get off the mat at Players Era Festival?[/HEADING] Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey got the Scarlet Knights a coveted multi-year spot in the showcase, which pays participating programs $1 million apiece. But those two are in the NBA now, and Rutgers faces a field that looks more like an NCAA Tournament bracket than a Feast Week event. https://www.mycentraljersey.com/story/sports/college/rutgers/2025/11/23/can-rutgers-basketball-get-off-the-mat-at-players-era-festival/87365200007/

I was there and I agree the games vs. WVU, Missouri, UNLV and even the A10 Championship when Penn State was allotted some tickets, were unmatched in intensity and fun at the RAC.
