Just sayin'.
Gamecocks have perfected the art of squandering golden opportunities. Spurrier seemingly taking the ball out of Lattimore's hands when he was in the Heisman talks. Spurrier seemingly having the program "turn the corner" after 3 consecutive 11 win seasons - only to completely demolish any progress with his "2 or 3 more years" comment....to losing to Navy when we were ranked #2 in the country ....to now completely sinking a top #15 ranking and managing to neuter Superman at our QB position, not to mention taking him out of the Heisman talk.
If there is a way to screw it up, the Gamecocks will find a way. It's truly unbelievable how many opportunities we've had to "break through" / out of mediocrity but it's like we're hell bent on staying mediocre. I've never seen anything like it. Truly.
And next year, we get to start all over with a new QB, yet another undersized RB (probably), and no WR who is one of the fastest WR's in college ball ever.....not that we throw deep to him anyway, because that would make way too much sense, and of course....the consistently horrible OL. If we lose to KY (and I think we will) , we may as well just drop football altogether at South Carolina. It doesn't really matter if we beat KY or not. Win or lose that game and we're not going to win another game until Coastal. So, either way, this season is over already and changes need to be made in the coaching staff. Our only hope is that this new AD cleans house at the end of the season. I'm sorry to be so pessimistic but this team this year is a complete cluster FdmpK and the buck stops with the head coach. No excuse for it. None. Zero.
And the fact that Shane *WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE* how atrocious the OL is...... that right there is the sole reason I am leaning towards : Just fire him and move on. Either something egregiously sketchy is going on with him and Teasley , or he's just plain stupid. - Maybe we can lure Saban out of retirement? Or Urban Meyer. Don't laugh. We got Holtz and Spurrier, we can get Urban.....not so sure about Saban. Probably not.
