Sherrone Moore = Sam Pittman

Think about
  • Offensive Line Coach by trade
  • Elevated to HC as feel good hire
  • Wins a couple of big games but everything about the program feels disjointed
The only difference being the financial resources poured into Sherrone because the AD is desperate for this experiment to work. This will end the same as it did for Pittman, it will just take a lot longer to get there

As folks here have said it a ton, Michigan should not be your first coaching job, not even close.

If Harbaugh truly believed Moore was ready to be a head coach, he was either high than a giraffe’s pu££y when he said it or he was/is a moron. Plain and simple. Moore was not (and still is not) ready to be a head coach.

Should OSU have not hired Day?

Uh, Day's coaching experience and Moore's is a bit different, wouldn't you say.

sam pittman was a good coach imo arky is a hard place to win and he put that program in a upward trajectory...they were awful before he got there and where on a downward trajectory. He had similar success level as bret bielema at arkansas. Would be pretty satisfied if Moore is as good as pittman

I started a thread on this a couple of weeks ago. I think the collective conclusion is that Harbaugh probably didn’t really care. Once he took the Chargers job, it was all Chargers, there was no wasted energy on what is best for Michigan & Warde

If Harbaugh thought Moore was of value he would have taken him to LA with him like he took the other coaches he wanted. Speaks volumes he didn’t.

How you don’t have a gameplan to destroy a bottom of the conference team is inexcusable. par for the course where he just turtles.

No fan base in the country who wants to hate their coach more than this one. Support the team? Nah. Just cry

Neither was a head coach. I’m not defending Moore’s performance one bit. Just saying hiring a first time head coach does work. The key is to fail fast when it’s not working. We are caught in mediocre land where he’s not doing enough to get fired but not excelling either.

I still sincerely believe Harbaugh endorsed Moore (knowing full well he wasn't ready to be HC, as his last f-u to the administration for not fighting the NCAA for him.

It’s true. We hired Sherrone Moore after winning 3 big ten titles and a natty to go to the pop tarts bowl. Hats off to him he has us well on our way.

not really ..arkansas is literally one of the hardest place to win at...and consistently has one of the hardest schedules in cfb. people rarely take actual context in account Sam pittman level coach is winning natty at Um with nil resources he would have at his disposal and playing in a less deeper conference where you can stack up wins against rutgers , purdue and so on

Shoot, I forgot to consider the National Championship that was solely attributed to the Offensive Coordinator running Jim Harbaugh’s offense on Jim Harbaugh’s team. Bill Walsh is a more apt comparison

Moore is Brady Hoke, with the 2nd richest guy in the world funding his NIL. That’s the only difference.

Fair point but I didn’t see Harbaugh advocate for Minter to get the HC job. He wanted him with him in LA.

Nah, Jim was touting Sherrone well before he even left for the NFL.

Minter got a show cause. He was not getting the job.
