Stoops situation

Here is the Mark Stoops situation as of today. The administration is well aware of where the fans are the overall status of the program. I think there is an understanding that there has to be either (a) significant run to end the season or (b) a change at the end of the season Here is how I see it practically. The real discussions about the future begin after we see what happens with Auburn/Florida. Lose both those games (or maybe even one) and there will be a new coach next year. The question is just how we get there. Win and then it becomes a much more up in the air question But there is no consensus on the future or even a serious conversation on what’s next now and likely won’t be until we see what happens after the auburn game. But with a loss Saturday, that convo likely starts quickly

So…..nothing most tone deaf administration in sports. You might as well keep the slob if you are going to wait because Sumrall and Stein will both be taken

Lifeless Auburn and coachless Florida are not the type of "on the right track" wins y'all think they are.....but, ok

This is all a clown show. You know Stoops isn’t the future so why would 1 win against a terrible team with no coach (Florida) change anything? We will never have serious ties to 3 really hot coaching candidates again. Letting the rest of the country pass us while we have Mitch’s boot on our necks is criminal.

I figured this was the case, however, I was hoping to be wrong. It is just like I thought, Mitch is hoping Stoops goes on a run to make his decision for him. So disappointed. The administration is "aware" of how the fans feel, comical. Anyways thanks for the update, it just makes me sad to read it.

I am not sure the reason for the “tone deaf” comments. They know. They also genuinely believe the season isn’t over with these winnable games coming I tend to think that’s false but I don’t think waiting to see how next weekend or the next plays out really matters or changes anything I am more confident than ever that change will occur absent a major run to end the year

Thanks for the update, Matt but goodness this is demoralizing and depressing. This administration is just unserious about football. No way that two wins against bad Auburn/florida should bring him back

Auburn and Florida are not great litmus tests for success… what is Mitch smoking? This is soooo clearly finished.

If that's their thought process just throw this program away. I mean what are we doing here.

Auburn is not lifeless. We’re not winning that game.

How the rest of the season goes? Seriously? Did they see the stands at this game? There won’t be anyone at the rest of the games if there is just silence. Also, we are the laughing stock this morning across the sports world.

The fact that wins over a lame duck coach and/or an interim coach could even POTENTIALLY save Stoops job is enough for Mitch to be taken to The Hague and tried for war crimes.

You have to shit can him yesterday. This is not how a successful athletics and football program should be run. Make a run my ass, it wont happen, maybe a change in leadership could spark these guys, but not under stools.

Allbarn is going to boat race us. Freeze is coaching for his job and needs style points to calm the natives.

If they decide to keep Stoops the administration better hope for #9 by the basketball team. Stoops won’t have enough NIL to field an OVC football team next season.

They don’t care about football so I don’t either. Finding me a new team until he’s gone.

Beating Auburn or Florida isn’t changing things for most fans but if this administration wants to go this route then it’s their funeral

I said in a reply earlier today that we were two weeks from hearing anything. And as others have said, beating Auburn or a Florida team without a coach changes nothing as far as the trajectory of the program. They should have no bearing.
