If this ends how it usually does...
Thanks, Shane. Really hate it didn't work out but hope you kill it in your next stop.

There’s a big difference between a “vote of confidence” originating from the SID and being asked a question by a newspaper.

The State asked him the question. I’m not sure how this is indicative of anything.

I hope we keep Shane. I think we can build around him long term. Clayton White proves it.

You know, I’m getting real tired at the tone of these posts. I’m sure y’all don’t care, but what did you expect the Athletic Director to say? I’m glad he said he’s behind Shane 100%. That doesn’t mean there won’t be changes after the season ends.
All this fire everyone now is crazy. Has Shane struck out with the OC? Yes, but I believe better things are coming.
I don’t think the doom and doom helps Shane, our coaches or players.
I chose to be supportive!! And that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve any criticism- he does, but Beamer has done more good than bad at South Carolina.

I'm still on the Shane Train but usually get this vibe with vote of confidence.

How else could JD answer that question?………neither Beamer lovers or haters can read much into that. A nothing burger really. No ammo for either side really.

My .02 worth. Shane has EARNED some grace from the AD and BOT. He’s had more decent, to good, seasons than the opposite. 2023 and 2025, to date, pretty much were bad. His other three seasons were overachieving based on pre-season expectations.
Firing him likely sets recruiting back at least for two years. He’s proven he can fix things, make changes, etc.
If 2026 is as bad as this year, then a change would occur. We’d look sorta stupid to get rid of a guy with a winning record here, with top ten wins over TENN, aTm, CU…
