The refs manufactured this win for Minnesota

When one team can hold all they want and the other gets called when they touch a player, you can't win. It's been this way since 2011. It will be the same next week against Northwestern. Nebraska is not supposed to win.

The refs were awful. So was our coaching. So was our Oline. So was our defense.

Hahahahahahahahaha Worst oline I've ever seen. Little bitches cry about being booed. Complete trash. Every single one of them. 57 is a mental midget.

We getting blown off both lines 4 yards every play. I don't think any other stat matters.

Ya, Sure. The refs played matador all night long at right tackle. It was all their fault Dylan was sacked and hurried all night long. And Butler couldn't find an answer to their rush offense which happens to one of the worst.

Both things can be true. Brian Banks and his crew are always pretty awful. They weren't the reason we lost tonight. We were worse. Coaching and playing.

Hey c’mon man… bottom five OLines but we’ve had worse OLines- can’t remember the years but we had freshman tackles playing : Tyler Moore? Difference is we always had running QBs that covered up a lot of bad OLines by making plays with their feet… now we are trying to be drop back passing team, without a oline that can pass block.. (or run block) and a QB who is not a runner. Bottom 5… but not the worst.

There were some bad calls and 'no calls', but if we played the Gophers five times with this OL, 'Min' wins every single one -- even if it were in Lincoln. Our team was manhandled decisively. I'm 100% sure 'overconfidence' (the tunnel vision of going against ourselves, with younger, less experienced -- if not 'less quality' of competition each day had them 'believing it was theirs all the way'). So, pretty much the whole game they were 'going through the exact same motions' they do during 'practice' thinking that's enough. Playing like you practice is FINE...but not if you've 'already won' in your 'head' before you put on your shoulder pads. A lot of bad things will happen on the field if you can't get 'momentum' because your QB is running for his life from the second he takes a snap. If we don't come out of the locker room angry but 'composed' next week, the same could happen against Northwestern.

Our second string defense is absolutely putrid, they are all awful, so it doesn’t surprise me that they thought that the offense and OL is better than it really is all offseason

Refs are always awful. Last night wasn’t on them. The team showed no heart or fight. All I heard all week is how we were so much better than Minnesota. It looked the exact opposite last night.

We are a soft team especially on the lines. This loss has nothing to do with the refs and everything to do with a mentally and physically soft team. I have not seen any improvement except special teams. It doesn’t take good coaching three years to see an improvement. Good coaching creates results overnight. Look at our special teams as an example. We hire an excellent special teams coordinator and magically we are good at ST overnight. Look at Cignetti in Indiana. Good coaches produce results almost immediately. I hope Rhule can get this going but it’s going to take some soul searching and a willingness to cut dead weight and hire the best coaches at their position.

Below average coaching and below average play will never win. They’ve been fortunate enough in every P4 game so far to win when they have.

I bet I know many times more about Football than you. Jesus, you can’t even see the difference between serious analysis and someone who’s just pissed right after a game because we’ve seen all of this before. There’s something seriously wrong with our offensive line. We all know this and it transcends talent. We have players who come in here ranked fairly high to very high. We have second to none training and facilities. We have a group of OLs who are mostly older players. Yet, some of our lineman get thrown around like rag dolls by even average DLs and LBs. We’d be kidding ourselves too if we didn’t admit that Dylan’s lack of mobility in the pocket is becoming a problem, a big problem. Again, it has to do with coaching and training. It also has to do with getting a team up for a game. We’re in a pickle on the OL because of the connection to the QB and to a Nebraska legend player family. It’s not certain that this is all on Coach Raiola. It could be that Dylan’s complete inability to roll out of the pocket in a planned manner and the fact that he plants his feet in the mud most of the time until it’s too late are factors also. We also have to acknowledge that Dylan is going to fight his genetics at the QB spot for as long as he plays. He has the body that tends more to be like his dad than a normal QB, so he’s never going to be mobile. All that said, Nebraska being on the short side of the holding situation is not something I made up while I’m pissed. It’s well documented and Minnesota’s two big plays were a direct result of uncalled holding, while at the same time, we get a considerable disproportionate share of holding and PI called on us, like last night in critical situations. You seem to just want to believe every problem can be solved by firing a coach or two. It’s not that simple.
