Tired of head coaches letting you down? We are the answer!!

The question I keep seeing is: Who will we get if or when we move on from Mike Norvell? It's 2025, and FSU football is falling short of competing with programs in our own neighborhood—not just in the ACC. We spend big money on head coaches but, for the most part, don’t get big results. I’m tired of it, and I’m sure you are too. Here’s my proposal: eliminate the head coach position. Hear me out. Norvell is under contract for over $10 million a year. Instead of paying one person that much, let’s make both our coordinators the highest-paid in the country and hire the best special teams coordinator in the nation. For recruiting and player evaluation, hire a CEO/GM—personally, I’d prefer Jimbo Fisher. Each coordinator would have total control over their side of the ball. You might ask, “What about crucial in-game decisions?” Great question, because this is where it gets fun and revolutionary: we, the fans, make the decisions. On 4th and 8, a real-time fan vote decides whether to punt or go for it. If we’re down by 7 with a minute left, we decide whether to kick the extra point or go for the win after our top-paid offensive coordinator schemes a touchdown. Only season ticket holders would get voting access, and for road games, we’d bring 11 season ticket holders to vote. The money we’d save on a head coach—who often can’t recruit well and makes head-scratching in-game decisions—could be used to land the best quarterback and offensive line in the country. FSU would become the talk of college football, and kids love the next big thing (or whatever they call it these days). Some school will try this eventually, so we should jump on it first. This is my first draft of the proposal and needs some tinkering, but I think it’s crazy enough to work.

Interesting indeed. Why 11 for away games? With tech where it is, seemingly the same model could be used via an encrypted app accessible only to those interested parties. Also, switch to boosters not just season ticket holders. 1 for 1, not weighted based on contribution amounts. Boosters are the engine that moves forward, not ticket holders.

Clearly we must give one vote per thousand in annual booster contributions. Ticket holders aren’t paying that NIL tab. Incentive the alumni base to put us on that Texas Oil Money level. Mobile games squeeze billions in revenue from folks who largely can’t afford it. Just imagine applying that same exploitative psychology to college football.

Players, recruits, and coaches see these kind of posts, and I can guarantee you all of them feel the same way about them I have seen hundreds and hundreds of posts in here talking bad about Miami and gator fans making posts like this It never ceases to amaze me how many armchair coaches there are that think they can do better than people that have been doing it for their whole life

No doubt that’s pretty much one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen so how would all of this voting be done in game?????

After every play there is a Tv timeout to facilitate votes being tallied. Coaches can opt to burn one of their three “no timeouts” to skip the fan vote and immediately call a play. But clearly we need to limit this to only three times per half. Those idiots have no idea what they are doing.

I was fortunate to have spent about 40 years in athletics, as a player, as a coach, and as an athletic director. The poison and stupidity that some so-called fans spread about students representing their university is unbelievable. It has been my experience that the people Spreading these negatives have never played or certainly never coached anything above a T-ball level. It would be wonderful if these naysayers and negative Nelly’s would understand that what they spread really has no input on the longevity of a coach or a player. If you can’t say something positive then get in a room by yourself and talk to yourself because nobody gives a hoot that some ego driven individual wants to downgrade someone who is giving their best effort. Back in the late 60s early 70s we had a no win season. Florida State fans have been fortunate, and in my opinion are rather spoiled as a result. All the success our program has had over the years. If you can’t support the Noles, please become a gator or Cane fan.

reminded me of this quote from the office: Look, it doesn't take a genius to know that any organization thrives when it has two leaders. Go ahead, name a country that doesn't have two presidents, a boat that sets sail without two captains. Where would Catholicism be without the popes?

While some take things too far, fan is short for fanatic, criticism comes with the territory at this level. This is Big Boy ball!! If these kids can only handle it when they are winning, win more! My nephew played at FSU and this is the advice my BIL (a short NFL career) gave him.

This sort of rhetoric lead to what has become a joke now sadly. That joke is The university of Nebraska football team. We will see if they can even beat Maryland this week after no top 25 wins now in almost 10 years and a once longest bowl streak in a row finally restarted as of last season… This exact quote from you is often cited on the boards there from former players and others it did lead to some poor firings. It does hurt the team in some ways. You gotta respect the will of the fans as without them there is no athletics or anything all about demand and nil contracts would be tiny without the fans. Whether they played football like many have at the college and high school levels or not. I can be annoyed at times but it’s not tier fault they care and that’s important to respect. Forcing others to behave in a certain way also almost always backfires and gets the opposite response. I remember when Osborn left like Bobby who unfortunately didn’t go out on top the program seemed like it could never go down maybe frank would have won one he did reach a MNC. Similar to jimbo. both programs Left the program roots and traditional schemes to evolve to modern offense and defense with Willie and then Mike same as bill callahan and now figuring out how to deal with a similar coach to Bo pelini good not elite in a changing landscape and being in a weaker conference is a problem… with Mike he needs to do well the rest of the season or there will be justified hot boards and talk and pressure he did real bad then good then bad now idk yet let’s see how it plays out asking fans to leave is asking for the program itself to disappear and fsu would be a college who happens to play football.

Your career explains your posts. May I ask at what levels? I ask only because the level of competition matters. Even at the same level of competition, a 2-10 season at FSU is different from 2-10 at Vandy. To think that we won't have fans who voice their opinions after a Miami home loss is short sighted at best. As I posted earlier, this is Big Boy ball. This is the attitude you get when you have a Rah Rah coach!!! I lived in Philly for awhile. I GUARANTEE you this is a bad day for the Eagles and Phillies!!! Right or wrong, to some it just means more.

When I watch the games at home every room I walk into is in different stages of the game. I'm just afraid of the delay for road games on the telecast.
