What I was told by someone who works with Jimmy Sexton at CAA

Lane wants the Florida job and the only thing that could change that is if Lane takes ole Miss to the national championship game. Even if Lane makes the playoffs that won’t be enough for him to not want the job.

I’m just not convinced that he believes that OM can consistently be there. He’s had to work his tail off in NIL, recruit a #20 class, and coach like hell sometimes against blue blood teams on Saturday’s. He’d want to do that every year? Does he believe that all of a sudden OM would become Alabama? I just have a hard time seeing a guy who supposedly wants to take life slow then having to work so hard every year. I’m okay to be wrong.

Lots of football to be played. He can shit the bed against MSU, UF or the Cocks.

COULD. I would bet Lane has had that UF game circled on the calendar since last year for SEVERAL reasons like he knew he should’ve been at UF but SS kept BN and We ruined their run last year. Unless something DRASTIC changes Lane could hang 40 on us to make a statement before taking the UF job.

This is opinion but making it to the playoffs is just going to make him hungrier. He’s a competitor and even with all that new found peace he has found he still wants to win championships. We saw that with all the post game stuff.

I don't trust any of these random "sources"... Unless it gets reported directly from either Pete Thamel, Heather Dinich, @PeteNakos, @Andy Staples. Brett McMurphy, or the staff here at Gators Online such as @ZachAbolverdi we can take it all with a grain of salt.

Also GC is all in on Kiffin but I think that was well known. Where as what’s new info is my connection to a coworker of sexton

If they make the playoffs he’s not coming. Ran into the clerk at Walmart who knows Sextons co worker. It must be true.

9 sec games next year too. Ole Miss will have to play 5 conference road games every other year. UF has 4/4 and cocktail party every year. And a significant homefield advantage.

Lane has zero reason to do anything quickly. If we hear anything (other than rumors) before OM's season is over I would be shocked.

We have the best chance of beating them based on their remaining schedule so let that sink in

Hopefully this is true but I’ve decided I’m going to emotionally accept we’re not getting Lane, and then if we do I’ll feel even better about it

Coaches all have Egos. If Lane Kiffin goes to Florida, the number one story by a wide margin leading up to next year is how will Kiffin do at Florida. If Kiffin wins the NC at ole Miss, going into next year the number 1 story will not be can ole Miss repeat. Thats just the power of the brand and you can bet Kiffin wants to be talked about.

If they make the playoffs and he still hasn’t announced he is staying, the only logical thinking is that he is gone unless they win the natty (they won’t)

Lane wants to keep climbing and ole miss is not the top of the mountain. He has tons of connections in and at Florida, idolized Spurrier. He wants to work for a blue blood program. That’s just who Lane is.

He's also been blessed with a relatively easy schedule the last couple of years (for SEC standards) - compare to Florida's schedule. Apparently, that might change as the SEC changes to a 9 SEC game schedule. So, he has to know the road is going to get a lot tougher at Ole Miss in the near future.

Appreciate you bringing the info I don’t believe Ole Miss will make it to the NC game and truthfully I think Kiffin knows this team he currently has is a playoff caliber team but not a NC caliber team If he is able to recruit top 10 talent to Florida then I think he knows he can make it to the NC with Florida over Ole Miss if GC and Hugh are all bought in, that’s a great sign for NIL, I also believe you will see a monster push for FV from the UAA and I think the fans will start to sign back up, I have a couple friends of mine who wanted change last year and were opposed to contributing until change was made, they have mentioned to me if UF hired Kiffin they will start to contribute, I’m assuming this is a lot of UF fans
