Where does Ole Miss get their NIL?

I’m curious as to where they find the funds? Seems like Miss State has nothing. The state is one of the poorest, not many big cities, alumni population is smaller than most SEC schools. Do they have their version of Cody Campbell?

They have a wealthy alum base. Lane considering the AU job a few years ago actually lit a fire under them to win big.

I’m a friend through a friend to a big Ole Miss booster and go to their home in Murfreesboro often to watch games. They go to parties at the Manning’s residence in NO to give you an idea. This year’s nil will not be replicated in the future . They were initially looking to over spend this year to retain talent from lsu, but it’s become a strategy for combating the narrative that the program will immediately slide post kiffin.

  • Gerald "Doc" Hollingsworth: Provided a $25 million gift, the largest in the athletics department's history.
  • John Black: A major donor and foundation board member, known for a $10 million gift to name the basketball pavilion.
  • The Holloway Family: Contributed over $8.4 million to various university entities, including athletics.
  • Donna and Mike Glenn: Donated $350,000 for the Walk-Off Foyer.
  • Greg Whitehead: An alumnus who increased his planned gift to support athletics.
  • The Grove Collective: The primary NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) entity for Ole Miss, receiving substantial, separate, and, in some cases, record-breaking, financial support.
Key Giving Vehicles
  • Vaught Society: The premier organization for major athletic gifts, with members contributing over $25,000 (often pledged over 5 years).
  • CHAMPIONS.NOW.: A campaign focused on renovating facilities, which, along with other,, has secured hundreds of millions of dollars.
  • Empower: The SEC's first major giving program specifically for women's athletics.
Recent Trends
  • Athletics received a record $55.2 million in one year, demonstrating strong support outside of NIL, which is managed through groups like The Grove Collective.
  • Former student-athletes are a significant source of funding for the Vaught Society.
  • The "Now & Ever" campaign has surpassed $480 million in total funds raised for athletics.

This. Was talking with a MSU friend and we both knew OM had to overspend this year to try and said “Lane wasn’t OM’s success… OM was OM’s success”

Only thing I see Auburn athletics relies on significant private donations for facility improvements and NIL initiatives, with major contributors including Jimmy Rane (over $12 million), and Walt and Ginger Waltosz ($10 million for the football performance center). In FY2024, contributions accounted for 29.9% of Auburn's football revenue, ranking 8th among public SEC schools. Key Athletic Donors and Contributions
  • Jimmy Rane: A major, consistent donor to the university and athletic department, exceeding $12 million in total giving.
  • Walt and Ginger Waltosz: Contributed a $10 million gift in 2019, which was considered the largest single donation to Auburn athletics at the time, specifically for the Football Performance Center.
  • Tigers Unlimited Foundation: The fundraising arm of Auburn athletics, which secured $31.5 million for the Football Performance Center project.
  • Samuel Ginn: While major donations are noted for the College of Engineering ($25 million in 2001, $30 million in 2025), his support heavily influences the university's overall fundraising capacity.
Recent Funding Context
  • NIL Spending: Reports from late 2025 indicated high, competitive NIL spending, with one source mentioning a $12.3 million NIL, though this figure often represents total donor-driven, NIL-related economic activity rather than a single donation.
  • Football Revenue Reliance: In fiscal year 2024, donations made up 29.9% of football revenue.
  • Revenue Surplus: The athletics department reported $122 million in revenue with a substantial surplus in FY2025.

Ole Miss does have some rich alumni, no doubt. But a medical school? The one in Jackson? That’s like claiming Alabama has one with UAB and it directly increasing support for their athletics. Auburn has a better case at having a medical school at this point with the DO school being in Auburn. I don’t think Ole Miss has more money than Auburn as a program or NIL support for that matter. I think they have made a big push recently due to the Lane wave (and subsequent fallout) snd are choosing to spend what they have differently.

As we go on, I think you will see most schools NIL spending correspond to “windows” similar to the NFL. It’s much easier to not only convince the boosters to go all in if you think you’re gonna be a contender, but it’s much easier to make that phone call if you really believe your a few pieces away. *Top spenders in the sport excluded*

NIL #s breaking in the locker room, now Dabo releasing they paid that Cal LB 1M a year for 2 years to get from to leave Clemson. Sounds like a disaster locker room coming imo. TG trying the Freeze method with a bunch of individuals. They obviously got some money but it doesn’t last forever. Let them slip to 7/8 wins this season & let’s see how galvanized that base is.
