Who will replace Brent Venables? Curt Cignetti is 64 so

Can’t imagine how it’s going to work with a new AD not coming into until possibly next May or June? Will a new AD want to take the job with Venables halfway out if the door. You can’t hire a new coach before the new AD. This may turn into a huge mess. who would replace? Cignetti? Dillingham?

I texted with Nagy after the game. He has a 7-year plan with Brent at the helm. Starting next year. I told him the message board fanbase would not be happy. He said he doesn't care and that message boards aren't a real place. Sorry, buddy.

I love everything about Cignetti except for how old he already is. Saban retired at 71. Cignetti is 64. I just don’t think he’s a long term option, but maybe dude could do it long term even at his age. my short list would be in no particular order: Cignetti Lanning Dillingham Kiffin Urban Meyer (why TF not? Hire a semi-scuzzy AD and throw Urban 15 mil a year. Naw, they couldn’t probably afford BVs buyout plus paying Urban) As much as I hate this, Josh Heupel. He’s had the most successful run at Tenn since the late 90s under Fulmer. But I don’t want any former OU ties. And I don’t think he’d entertain it anyways. as much as I also hate this, Shane Beamer. Dude has done really well overall at a program that’s been very hard to win at. That means something. Yes he has OU ties, but very short lived so I don’t really count it. What about Marcus Freeman? I don’t know why he’d leave. He has a much easier path to the playoff every year at ND. But I would at least try.

Why would any of them want to come here?

Paired with Nagy, would Gruden be worth a shot? Besides Lanning, I just don’t see anyone out there that gets me excited.

Kiffin or Dillingham would be crazy not to leave their current schools for Oklahoma

Until Joe C is officially retired, BV will remain the HC.

They should make that move. Franklin is cooked.

We screwed up by not firing Brent last year. It has tanked our 2026 class and could put us into a MUCH more competitive coaching carousel this year. OU fans shouldn’t have burned the bridge with Lebby because it’d be nice to have that option at our disposal to explore.

Right now, is OU a better program than Ole Miss? He’s doing better at Ole Miss than BV is here, why make that jump?

Dillingham ok I get but that his alma mater so prolably not .... Kiffen idk .... the OU NIL war chest isn't far better than ole piss ... they're similar .... it's a lateral move at best imo though OU is obviously the blue blood program but in todays game that doesn't mean anything imo besides Kiffen is most likely going to UF once Billy is canned

Ah yes, that famous Arizona State NIL slush fund. I swear some of you people can’t possibly think this shit through before you post it.

We’ve truly reached the depths when we’re 5-1 with wins over Michigan and Auburn and we don’t think the freaking coach at Indiana would consider us? WTF dude.

Yes. That is correct. I don’t like it either. We beat mid Michigan and mid Auburn. hoooray. Indiana just beat Oregon. OU aint beating Oregon.

Lanning isn’t coming to OU. We already told him no thanks and he’s found an infinite money glitch at Oregon.

What on God’s green earth does that have to do with good candidates considering us as a destination should we decide to make a coaching change? Take a step back from the keyboard, brother. You’re not making sense tonight.
