It’s a prerequisite that they are out of coaching at least two years before we hire them. So it would have to be after another 2 years of BB

He can win at Penn State. They darn near played for the national championship last year.

Because he’s a great coach and could do very well here. He could lock up NC and Virginia for us and be the best coach we’ve ever had. Perfect fit.

But why? Belichick getting fired is a matter of when, not if. It's not going to work. Mack Brown was out of coaching and was on TV. Belichick had never coached college and is 73. Franklin knows the college game today. He has won bigtime. He has been to the CFP and even got to the semifinals. He would be THE home run hire that Belichick wasn't.

For the record, this is Franklin's record. Vandy 6-7 9-4 9-4 Penn State 7-6 7-6 11-3 11-2 9-4 11-2 4-5 (Covid 7-6 11-2 10-3 13-3 3-3 In other words, in the Big Ten he basically would lose to Ohio State and Michigan and beat Michigan on occasion and lose to someone else. In the ACC, he would roll through everyone.

I’ll try. Coaches who don’t get fired, and coaches we should be looking at, reach the historical high point for the school which employs them. For Penn State that is a National Championship, or at least a Conference Championship (though they were independent for so long). Franklin didn’t, and only threatened it a couple of times, so he got fired. He’s now on his way down, we should be looking at someone on their way up.
