Lane has won more games at Ole Miss no doubt. But he by all accounts (media and a TON of people on this board) had a playoff team without question. Everyone also agreed with the fact that he had an easy path to the playoffs even if he lost to the only two ranked teams he played in LSU and UGA. If our schedules last year were flipped with Ole Miss and Napier missed the playoffs with all the hype Lane had to make the playoffs, the vast majority would be calling for his head in year 3. Lane was in year 5 last year and yet we have people making excuses for him, the same people blast people like me who’ve made the same excuses for Napier.
