Y'all, Kelly is gone. What type of guy do we pursue next?

Honestly, lsu will finish 7-5 at best imo. They just aren’t beating A&M, bama, or OU. Arky will also be very tough

That’s the thing. There’s no home run hires out there. Saban isn’t coming back, Smart isn’t leaving Georgia. Who could we hire that would excite you other than the fact that it’s no longer BK in charge? Personally, I want someone who is elite on one side of the ball. Doesn’t have to be an elite recruiter because the LSU brand should be able to recruit itself plus you keep Austin Thomas and Frank Wilson on staff to lock down NIL and the state.

Does Frank really lock down the state though? Several high profile in-state recruits have gone elsewhere recently. Including one in the current class at a position on need who's brother literally plays on the team right now.

My personal opinion, no way Kelly is gone this year short of being arrested. That being said, my first interview would be Jon Sumrall.

My first call would be Gruden. 2nd call Joe Brady 3rd call Kelvin Sheppard 4th Summrall 5th would be Drinkowitz 6th Would be Lane 7th would be Alex Golesh 8th might be Blake Baker

Kelvin Sheppard is a very interesting one. He's been awesome in the NFL.

Give Baker a shot with a smaller buyout and scaled contract. Bonuses for every major thing he does that year that could equal $15 million with a national championship

i think glenn schumann at georgia is going to be a hot name sooner or later, he's only 35 and has been working under kirby for a while.

I feel like there are more "young" exciting potential candidates than last go around. Lane Matt Campbell Kenny Dillingham Drinkwitz Fisch so on and so forth

In a perfect world, someone who works as hard as Jay Johnson in baseball.

With you on number 1, why is he so highly regarded, seems he's the new Jack Del Rio when it comes to coaching searches, a few posters were obsessed with him during the Miles years

Lane isn't the slam dunk that I think everyone makes him out to be, but he's a really good candidate. He's not the same guy he was 10 or even 5 years ago. Think he also kinda fits the LSU swagger and cajun oddness. Wouldn't mind Blake Baker getting a shot either. I just want a motivated guy with room to grow and with real potential. Really do your research and no lazy "big game hunting" this time around. I'd have a firm hired and looking into all these guys: Kenny Dillingham Clark Lea Jon Sumrall Drinkwitz Texas A&M OC Oregon OC

At this point I don’t care who it is. But someone who has some pride. Someone who cares about the program and dosent feel like “LSU should be proud to have me”. Give me a up and comer.

he’s not being mentioned but Brent Key should be on everyone’s short list I think UF gets Fisch and PSU gets Rhule, Campbell, or Knowles. Auburn and FSU will be interesting assuming they come open as they are high end marquee programs with internal systematic issues

Clark Lea should be the first call for every major HC opening.
