YouTube TV/Disney…

Welp, as of midnight all Disney owned channels like ABC/ESPN channels are offline. Both are greedy bastards. Back to Spectrum I go until it gets resolved.

Im annoyed. We literally just left Hulu because its been so bad. Ive cleared ghe cache, deleted the app and reinstalled, signed out and back in. The app is awful on Xbox, roku, and Samsung. Youtube TV has been amazing. The splitscreen has been awesome. This SUCKS.

I think Hulu+live TV, FUBO, Sling, and Directv all have ESPN and a free trial. If you have already already used the free trial you can sign up for one of these and be good for maybe a week.

All these streaming services are taxing the hell out of us. Tired of this BS. Disney monopolizes everything

I use Fubo and get ESPN+ free now. I just need to find an internet provider other than Mediacom that doesn’t freeze the stream 10 times a game

Well shit. I use my company’s login for Youtube TV so I dont actually pay for it. So - for tomorrow, what can I download to get ESPN? Sucks I wont have multiview. Lots of good games leading up to 7:30

I think you need the ESPN app and a subscription to ESPN Unlimited (NOTE: ESPN+ subscription does NOT get you access to regular ESPN content) OR sign up for one of the other streaming services that include ESPN (e.g. Hulu + Live TV; Direct TV streaming; Fubo; Sling; etc.)

youtube tv was such a great deal for so long and then this shit keeps happening. major channel drops, they renegotiate and then in a month we’re paying $20 more a month. cable companies are smiling cause all the alternative tv options are just gonna keep going up until it makes sense to buy their service again

Doesn’t this usually get resolved right before any meaningful mass of games kick off?

Get locked into a contract nah I'm good. I start my Sling/Hulu/youtube TV/whoever has the best deal at the time the day of the first GT game and lasts until GT stops playing.

Ironically this is all directly driven by CFB. ESPN is in a position of needing to increase their revenue directly related to their huge revenue commits/contracts with CFB conferences. Also take note of ESPN's upward trending advertising time allocations during games over the past few years. Like all the others, this dispute will likely get resolved within a week or two with YT paying more and increasing their fees to consumers. It's all part of the viscous cycle of higher CFB TV contracts, Conference revenue share, coaching salaries, etc... Another interesting component of all this is Disney's current acquisition of Fubo which means Hulu and Fubo are both in the Disney fold. So a dispute like this only helps drive consumers from Google/YT to Disney/Hulu/Fubo... Capitalism at work!

I actually quit live tv streaming services. I just have espn unlimited, fox one, peacock, paramount plus, prime and Netflix. All sports are covered and since I don’t watch the news then I’m not missing anything.

I may do this. Already have paramount, prime and Netflix. Guessing the rest may be comparable or cheaper than YTTV and no more annual bs with contract disputes. It’s a shame, though - I really do like the YouTube TV platform.

Same. Youtube TV really is a great platform. Easy to use. It records all my stuff automatically which is all college football and Falcons games. Unlimited DVR. So nice. Hopefully they can resolve it.

I have most of the streaming services available. Not all, but most of them I get free or discounted through various incentive programs (Verizon, AMEX, etc.). Others I turn on/off depending on shows we're interested in at the time.

This one makes me a little nervous as ESPN has significantly more leverage now with their standalone service. I may wait till tomorrow but I'm not so sure it'll turn back on like it has in the past.
