More on the 2022 SEC Baseball Tournament

Alabama and Texas A&M both needed a win to guarantee their spot in the 2022 SEC Baseball Tournament semifinals. The loser would still have an opportunity to bounce back but victories would go a long way toward winning the entire event. After the Crimson Tide got off to a hot start, the Aggies were able to come back and pick up a 12-8 victory.

Dylan Rock hit a critical three-run home run in the fifth inning, getting Texas A&M back in the game. From there, the offensive explosion came out and produce 10 unanswered runs. The Aggies continue to push up the projections as they look to be a top-eight seed in the NCAA Tournament.

As for Alabama, hot bats at the beginning of the game but pitching down the stretch failed them. Fear not for the Crimson Tide, as Saturday’s matchup against Florida will bring new opportunities. Even being on the bubble, Brad Bohanan knows what needs to be done over the next few days.

The SEC baseball tournament has two six-team brackets and the rounds are split into three single-elimination rounds and three double-elimination rounds. Tennessee is the No. 1 seed and tops the bottom half of the bracket and the Texas A&M Aggies are the top seed in the top half. The top four seeds all received byes and play their first games on Wednesday.
