2023 Georgia ATH Aaron Gates chooses Florida

Sharpsburg (Ga.) Trinity Christian School’s Aaron Gates’ recruitment took a quick turn this week. The 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back released his top 10 schools on Wednesday.
Gates had Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, Miami, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, UCF, California and Vanderbilt in his top 10 schools.

On Thursday, he announced he’s heading to play college football for the Florida Gators.
Gates is the third commit in the Class of 2023 to pledge to the Gators. Gates and his Trinity Christian team made an appearance in the 2020 Class A Private state championship game.
He has been a key piece for the program playing both offense and defense.
He also plays on the school’s baseball team and has flirted with the opportunity to play both sports at the college level.
A few programs have offered him the opportunity to pursue the dual-sport role.
