Marshall Pritchett is a 6-foot-5, 210-pound tight end out of Rabun Gap (Ga.) Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School with over 20 offers. He is one of the top prospects at his position in the 2025 class. After developing relationships with coaches across the country and taking numerous visits over the last year, the four-star has narrowed his list down to 10 schools.

Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin made the list.

“My recruitment really started my sophomore summer, and I haven’t really had a period where I blew up,” Pritchett told On3. “I just kept adding on to the offers and the relationships I have built with the coaches have really been important to the 10 schools being on this list. I am talking to coaches on this list multiple times each week and the relationships are most important to me.

“Then it was about culture, tight end production and academics for me. Culture is very important to me. Now, with NIL, it is very easy to lose a program, so the culture is big for me. How the schools use the tight ends was key too. I want to be out in space and be used in the right scheme. All 10 schools are elite in certain aspects in academics too.

“Me and my parents made a checklist, we put things into four categories and these 10 schools really stood out.”

The No. 312 prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings is now looking to the future and he moves closer to a decision.

“I am looking at a decision sometime in the spring. I am going to take as many visits as I can before the next dead period, then try to get it down to five schools in my head and make a decision. The only visit scheduled right now is to Wisconsin on Feb. 4, but I am looking to visit Virginia Tech in mid January and numerous other schools later next month.

“I think by the end of May, I could have my decision made. That is not locked in, but that is what I have been thinking. I will continue to build relationships, take as many visits as I can, then see how I feel. My plan is to make an early decision, then enroll early with the school I choose.”

Pritchett has visited all 10 schools on his list. He took game-day visits to Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin in the fall. Visits were important for Pritchett because of the face-time he got with the coaches and the feel for the culture.

The same way Pritchett got it down to 10 is how he plans to move forward as he pushes towards one school. Relationships, player development, staff security, culture, fit and academics will factor into his final decision.
