Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair three-star defensive lineman Landon Rink holds offers from nearly 40 schools. He is set to choose between three of them next week.

Rink will be committing to either Ohio State, Oklahoma or Texas A&M on April 3. The 6-foot-2, 280-pound recruit last visited the Aggies on March 26, the Buckeyes on March 18 and the Sooners on Jan. 27.

“These three schools stand out to me because of the development that they have,” Rink told On3. “I like the culture at all of those schools and I have relationships with the coaches there.”

Rink will choose the school with ‘the most boxes checked’

So far, Rink has visited Texas A&M more than 10 times and has made between seven and eight trips to Oklahoma. His first visit to Ohio State came earlier this month.

Some of the staffers heavily involved in Rink’s recruitment include Aggies defensive line coaches Tony Jerod-Eddie and Sean Spencer, as well as Buckeyes associate head coach/defensive line coach Larry Johnson and Sooners associate head coach/co-defensive coordinator/defensive tackles coach Todd Bates. The No. 65 player in Texas is looking forward to playing in the Big Ten or the SEC in the coming years.

“It came down to who had the most boxes checked,” said Rink, the No. 391 overall prospect and No. 34 defensive lineman in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. “Me and my family, we thought about it and we knew it was right. It was a feeling in my stomach. I knew it was right.”

Rink is currently scheduled to take official visits to Ohio State (May 31-June 2), Oklahoma (June 21-23) and Texas A&M (June 13-15). He also set officials with Penn State (June 7-9) and USC (June 24-26).

Rink discusses Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M

Ohio State: “Coach Johnson is one of the best d-line coaches of all time. That definitely stands out to me. They’re a favorite to win the national championship almost every year, so they have a very good winning tradition and I love that.”

Oklahoma: “I like coach Brent Venables’ and coach Bates’ plan for me and what they want to do with me when I’m there. Also, I like the relationship I have with them.”

Texas A&M: “I love their scheme. I love what coach Mike Elko is doing up there. I feel like they’re about to turn everything around. The culture they have there is something I love.”
