Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nacoochee three-star tight end Marshall Pritchett has had his sights set on coming off the board during the spring for some time, but he still needed to feel like the time was right.

After taking plenty of visits and working through his recruitment, commitment time is on the horizon for the 6-foot-5, 220-pounder. Pritchett is set to announce his decision on March 23 and will choose between six schools. Georgia Tech, Miami, Michigan, South Carolina, UNC and Wisconsin will all have hats on the table.

“I think now is the right time,” Pritchett told On3. “I always had this vision to commit in the spring, and I think because a lot of schools are starting spring ball soon, with that happening, a lot of prospects are on campus and a lot of people are going to start wrapping this thing up or start to get an idea of where they want to go. I want to make sure I’m ahead of the gun. I always said ‘when it felt right, I was ready.’ Over time, it started to feel right and this is a perfect weekend to get all of my friends and family there.”

Pritchett has made multiple trips to each of the six schools and developed relationships with all of the coaching staffs. As he whittled his list of top programs down, he focused on a few key points to help him reach a decision.

“Schematically, where will I be used? At a program where I can shine and use my skillset. The staff also played a very important role, like the relationships I have with the staff, the comfort I had going to the school and then the final thing was education. I feel like all six of these schools, they do an unbelievable job and kind of check all those boxes,” Pritchett said.

Prtichett is comfortable with his decision

After taking a plethora of trips throughout last fall and into the beginning of 2024, Pritchett has his mind made up. Each program has made its fair share of impressions on the Peach State prospect, but he says he’s very comfortable with his decision.

“It’s been a very challenging process. I feel like because of the amount of visits I took, that I was really able to narrow down ‘what do I want?’ and ‘where can I get it?,'” Pritchett said.

“When I get on that campus and I get in the facilities and I envision myself waking up, going to practice, practicing, playing on the field, it all began to feel right. Over time, I became more and more comfortable with it. That’s what went into feeling right and feeling like it was time. I was very comfortable with the situation … I just felt like it was the right fit.”

Pritchett is the No. 412 overall prospect, the No. 23 TE and No. 46 player in Georgia in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
