Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Blackman three-star wide receiver <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/justin-brown-147418/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Justin Brown</a> is just hours away from revealing his college decision. He announced Thursday that he is committing during the afternoon of Aug. 5. 



Brown is the No. 505 overall prospect and No. 77 wide receiver in the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/consensus-player/football/2023/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">2023 On3 Consensus</a>, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 15 player in Tennessee. 



On3 rates the 6-foot-0, 185 pound wideout even higher as the No. 61 wide receiver and the No. 12 player in Tennessee.

Brown announced a top five of <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/mississippi-state-bulldogs/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mississippi State</a>, <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Penn State</a>, <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/pittsburgh-panthers/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pittsburgh</a>, <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/purdue-boilermakers/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Purdue</a> and <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/west-virginia-mountaineers/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">West Virginia</a> last month. He took official visits to the Panthers and the Boilermakers last month. 



According to the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/justin-brown-147418/recruiting/156504/rpm/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine</a>, it is a close race for Pittsburgh and Purdue for Brown’s commitment. The Boilermakers have the highest chance at 27.8%, but the Panthers aren’t far behind at 24.4%. The Nittany Lions have the next-best odds of Brown’s finalists at 11.8%.

The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
