4-star CB Terhyon Nichols sets commitment date
Cincinnati (Ohio) Withrow four-star cornerback Terhyon Nichols named his top six schools last month, and now he is ready to make a decision.
Nichols tweeted on Wednesday that he will announce his commitment on July 2.
Among the contenders still on his list are Cincinnati, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Pittsburgh.
Nichols is the No. 280 overall prospect and No. 28 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 player in Ohio.
On3 rates Nichols higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Nichols is the No. 188 overall prospect in the country, the No. 24 cornerback and the No. 7 player in Ohio.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Kentucky currently has has narrow lead over the five other schools in Nichols’ top six to land his pledge.
Earlier this month, the 5-foot-10, 166-pounder took official visits to see the Wildcats (June 5), Pittsburgh (June 9), Penn State (June 16) and Michigan (June 23).
“I’m going into my visits without any favorites,” Nichols told On3’s Chad Simmons last month. I’m going to keep things open and maybe cut my list down this month but it’ll be about how I feel. I just want to make the right decisions at the right times, so it will all be based on how I feel with my family. We will keep talking it all out and make the best decisions.”
Nichols currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $51K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
