4-star DL Trent Wilson locks in his commitment date

On Monday, Trent Wilson announced his top four schools. Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State and Texas A&M made the cut for the four-star defensive lineman out of Upper Marlboro (Md.) Dr. Henry Wise. There won’t be four schools on top of his list for long. Wilson has locked in a commitment date where he will commit to the Buckeyes, Sooners, Nittany Lions or Aggies.
“I will be committing to one of these schools on April 10,” Wilson told On3. “I felt it was the right time to lock in and build with the school I’m committing to. There was no reason to waste time or keep traveling to these other places if I knew where home was.”
Wilson was back in Columbus over the weekend. He was planning to visit Happy Valley on April 13, but he is not planning to take anymore visits before he announces his commitment.
His “mind is made up” and is ready to make move forward with his decision.
The No. 157 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking had locked in official visits with the Buckeyes, Sooners, Nittany Lions and Aggies, but he now only plans to visit the school he commits to on April 14.
Wilson shares his thoughts on Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State and Texas A&M
Ohio State: “They have Larry Johnson. Not only is he there, but they have two more defensive line coaches with great experience. All of them develop players and that is what stands out more about Ohio State.”

Oklahoma: “Todd Bates has done a great job catching up with me. Coach Brent Venables has too. Coach Venables is the only head coach I really talk to, so that means something. I like that he is a defensive-minded head coach and he and Coach Bates did a great job at Clemson with defensive linemen.”
Penn State: “The people stand out. The people at Penn State are genuine. I always feel at home at Penn State, so I know if I went there, I would feel comfortable.”
Texas A&M: “The new staff has done a great job recruiting me. Coach Sean Spencer has done a great job developing players wherever he has been too. Coach Mike Elko is a great head coach who knows how to put defensive linemen in position to make plays too.”
