4-star DL Vodney Cleveland takes official visit to Auburn
Plenty of elite prospects are on The Plains this weekend as Auburn looks to improve its standing with official visitors. One of the top names on campus is Birmingham (Ala.) Parker four-star defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland.
Since decommitting from Alabama in December, Cleveland has continued to work through his process and contenders have emerged once again. His trip to Auburn is the first of five scheduled OVs across the coming weeks.
Cleveland took to social media on Sunday to show off some of his pictures in orange, white and blue:
The Tigers are battling Georgia, Florida, Texas and North Carolina for the 6-foot-2.5, 305-pounder. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, it’s the Gators that continue to trend for Cleveland, but Auburn had a chance to make a major move this weekend.
Cleveland was surrounded by top talent also on campus for official visits. The likes of five-star EDGE Anthony Jones, four-star running backs Derrek Cooper and Jae Lamar, as well as Michigan four-star corneback commit Brody Jennings were all spending time around head coach Hugh Freeze and the AU staff.
The blue-chipper was on campus last month, too. He’s gotten to spend time around former teammate and current Auburn DL Jourdin Crawford — someone who’s also pushing hard to bring Cleveland to the SEC program next year.
“Of course, that’s a big deal with me and him being teammates and him coming here,” Cleveland previously told Auburn Live. “Me looking at this school as maybe potentially going here. I’m just grabbing information from him because he already knows.”

More on Auburn Recruiting
It’s been quiet on the recruiting front for the Tigers this spring. Just two prospects have pledged to AU this calendar year: Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County four-star wide receiver Devin Carter and Columbus (Ga.) Carver three-star interior offensive lineman Parker Pritchett.
Carter is the No. 124 overall recruit and No. 19 WR in the cycle. He’s also one of two wideouts in the class, alongside Boynton Beach (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star Denairius Gray, a top-300 recruit.
Huntsville (Ala.) Jemison four-star EDGE Hezekiah Harris remains the top-ranked commit in the mix following his pledge last July. Harris is now the No. 104 prospect nationally. Harris and Mobile (Ala.) Cottage Hill Christian four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle are the two in-state commits in the class to date. Toodle is also a top-200 recruit.
New Orleans Edna Karr four-star LB JaMichael Garrett and Baltimore St. Frances Academy three-star safety Wayne Henry help round out the class, which currently ranks No. 14 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
