4-star OT Claude Mpouma names top five schools, sets commitment date

Claude Mpouma, one of the nation’s top uncommitted tackles, is ready to announce where he’ll play his college football.
On Friday, Mpouma posted on Twitter that he is down to five schools and will make his decision public on June 29. Among the contenders for his commitment are Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, Auburn and Florida.
He took official visits to both Auburn and Florida earlier this month, and is set to see the Huskers this weekend with a little less than 10 days until he announces.
Earlier this month, he told GatorsOnline that UF, Nebraska and Auburn were his three top schools among the final five finalists.
“Those are my big three favorites still right now,” he said. “They’re all three recruiting me hardest.”
Nebraska gets the final shot at Mpouma
The Huskers will get their chance this weekend to leave a lasting final impression, but will have to overcome the two impressive visits he took at Florida and Auburn.
Mpouma spent a lot of time with offensive line coach Jake Thornton, area recruiter Vontrell King-Williams and coach Hugh Freeze.

“We had a lot of fun,” Mpouma told AuburnLive of his trip to The Plains. “We bowled on Saturday, spent a little time at dinner then talked about football, fundamentals, how (Thornton is) going to help me and everything else. Coach Thornton is a great person. I love him. Coach Vontrell, that’s my man. I spent a lot of time with Coach Freeze, too.”
The Gators also made him feel very much at home, and have been at the top of his list for some time now.
“I had a pretty good conversation with my position coaches,” he told GO’s Blake Alderman. “Made me understand that I’m a priority for them, and they really like me. Talking to the head coach was also pretty good. I feel like I’m comfortable around them. I just enjoy talking to them every day.”
The 6-foot-8, 260-pounder is the No. 175 overall prospect and No. 14 OT in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3, however, is higher on him than the other services. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the nation’s No. 127 prospect and No. 12 offensive tackle.
