4-star safety Warren Roberson names top five schools
Red Oak (Texas) four-star safety Warren Roberson is down to five schools in his recruitment, he announced Monday afternoon.
Included in the list for the 6-foot, 190-pounder are: Florida, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU and USC.
The Trojans are currently considered the major favorites to land him, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). It gives USC a 96.4 percent chance of securing his commitment, with no other school polling above 2 percent.
Roberson took an official visit to Los Angeles this summer, and he has built a strong relationship with the Trojans’ coaching staff.
“I love the culture at USC first of all,” he told WeAreSC. “I really like the coaches there, too. Lincoln Riley, Donte Williams and Coach (Alex) Grinch are really cool people. Then I feel I can blend with them and fit in their scheme.”
He is the No. 293 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 26 safety and the No. 52 player in the state of Texas.
According to the Industry Comparison, On3 is much higher on Warren Roberson than other services though. In the most recent release of the On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 150 overall prospect, No. 12 safety and No. 28 senior in Texas.
As a junior last season, he caught 41 passes for 688 yards and six touchdowns on offense, while also notching four interceptions on defense.
