Amongst a stacked group of offensive tackles in the 2025 cycle, Roswell (Ga.) Fellowship Christian five-star Josh Petty continues to emerge as one of the top prospects at the position.

Currently the No. 4 OT and No. 18 prospect overall in the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — Petty is one of the most coveted recruits in the nation.

With an important summer approaching, Petty is locking in his official visits. He will take OVs to Clemson (May 31), Auburn (June 7), Oregon (June 14) and Stanford (June 20), according to On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong.

Petty is coming off a busy March that saw spring trips to Clemson, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Auburn, Texas and Florida State. He’s continuing to work through his recruitment, which has featured heavy pressure from a batch of high-profile programs.

“Committing is hard,” Petty told On3 in January. “I’ve heard that from everybody. A lot of people tell me to go with my heart and that wherever feels like home probably is home. I’ve got that feeling about a couple schools, so I just have to figure out which one feels the most like home.”

Clemson a longtime standout for Petty

Dabo Swinney, Matt Luke and Co. continue to have Clemson at the top in the race for Petty’s pledge. His latest trip this spring was his second, and the Tigers were the first team to lock in an OV with the 6-foot-4, 265-pounder.

“This visit was a great opportunity to really get to know the new staff and meet the players and bond with them,” Petty told On3 last month. “I saw the campus, sat in meetings, talked with Coach Swinney and hung out with Coach Luke.”

“I feel great about Clemson,” he said. “After this visit it reaffirms the feeling I have previously had. They really care for their players and want to develop you to be the best man.”

Auburn continues to impress the 5-star

Petty also took his second trip to Auburn last month. The SEC Tigers are making the five-star know that he’s a major priority for Hugh Freeze and Co. on The Plains — and he’s feeling the love.

“I’ve been a big fan of Auburn for a very long time,” Petty told AuburnLive. “Coach Thornton has been recruiting me in my process for a very long time. I’ve had a special place for Auburn. I think they’re a great school.

“Just the environment around here. It’s special.”
