Aaron Anderson injury update: LSU vs. South Carolina Thursday availability report revealed

On Saturday, No. 11 LSU will host South Carolina for a 7:45 p.m. ET showdown. Both teams are entering the game after enjoying byes in Week 6.
History is on LSU’s side in the matchup. The Tigers boast an 18-2-1 all-time record against the Gamecocks. Most recently, LSU escaped with a nail-biting 36-33 win over South Carolina last season in Columbia.
The Gamecocks will look to strike back this weekend. Alas, LSU will be fired up for the game after suffering its first loss of the season to Ole Miss in Week 5. Unfortunately, neither team will be at full-strength for the meeting. Look below to see the latest availability report for each team.

LSU’s offense couldn’t find a rhythm in the Tigers’ 24-19 loss to Ole Miss in Week 5. The Tigers finished the game with just 254 total yards of offense. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier particularly struggled, only completing 21-of-his-34 pass attempts for 197 yards and a touchdown, while throwing one interception.
After the loss, LSU head coach Brian Kelly revealed Nussmeier has been battling an abdominal injury he suffered before the team’s season-opener. Nussmeier rested during the Tigers’ bye week and will undoubtedly be looking to make a splash on Saturday.
“He is feeling better and better,” Kelly said on Monday. “We didn’t do a lot with him last week. We wanted it to be a recovery week for him. We cut him down from the throwing. We get a bonus day (Monday) with the practice day, and from talking to him, he is feeling good and ready to go.”
Nussmeier isn’t the only QB who hasn’t lived up to expectations this season. South Carolina’s LaNorris Sellers was the preseason All-SEC First-Team QB, but has failed to put up the same impressive numbers he recorded last year.

Through five games, Sellers has logged 886 passing yards and four touchdowns, compared to one interception. Sellers’ 886 passing yards are the third-least on any starting quarterback in the SEC, and the second-least of all conference QBs who have started the entire season.
In turn, South Carolina began conference play 0-2 this season. The Gamecocks got back on track in Week 5 with a dominant 35-13 win over Kentucky. Now, South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer is hoping to see his team build on their momentum.
“Our guys are excited to get down to Baton Rouge,” Beamer said. “I know it’ll be loud and electric and rocking in there, and we’ve got to prepare well this week in practice to be able to go perform well on Saturday night, but excited about the group we’re taking down there and looking forward to the challenge.”
LSU and South Carolina will clash at 7:45 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will air live on the SEC Network.
