WATCH: Aaron Jones shows up in unique outfit for Sunday Night Football

Score four touchdowns in a week and you can pretty much wear what you want. Just ask Green Bay Packers’ running back Aaron Jones.
The 2020 Pro Bowl running back had an incredible game last week, turning in 17 carries for 67 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown, along with six receptions for 48 yards and three receiving touchdowns. As the Packers travel to San Francisco to face the 49ers on Sunday, Jones showed up to Levi’s Stadium rocking his patented yet unique sombrero and glasses combination.
The most meaningful aspect of Jones’ outfit is one that’s not quite clear from the Packers’ video — Jones’ necklace displays a photo of him and his late father on a pendant. Alvin Jones Sr. passed away in April due to complications from COVID-19.
In addition to the necklace, Jones started the tradition of wearing colorful shades this year on the sidelines of Packers’ games. He said he’s been wearing a different pair of Oakleys on the sidelines in honor of Military Appreciation Month.
“I started putting on the glasses this year. Oakley sent them to me and I was like, ‘Oh, those are it. Those are it,’” Jones said. “They just stood out to me. I love all their glasses, but [these Oakleys] just stood out to me.”

Jones’ signature look was topped off by a wacky green and gold sombrero, one that has made a frequent appearance in Green Bay Packers’ end zones as Jones celebrates touchdown runs. Jones said he’s worn the sombreros as a nod to his El Paso, Texas roots.
“I’m from El Paso and the city has a huge Hispanic and Mexican culture,” Jones said of his Packers-colored sombrero. “We were actually playing in Dallas and I went and got a costume sombrero and wore it with my outfit. I was getting so many compliments. Then a Packers fan named Señor Cheese Head contacted me. He was like, ‘Dude do you want me to send you a real sombrero, a Packer-colored one?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, sir, I’d love that.’ He sent it to me last year and I’ve been wearing it ever since.”
Jones has 76 rushing yards on 22 carries so far in 2021, with just one rushing touchdown. However, the Texas-El Paso University alumnus is a bit of an all-purpose back, as most of his damage this season has been done through the air: he’s reeled in eight catches for 61 receiving yards and three touchdowns for the Packers.
