Georgia has won 33 consecutive home games, the longest active streak in college football. For the Bulldogs to continue their streak, they will have to beat Alabama on Saturday night in Sanford Stadium.

Kirby Smart and his program will also have to break a trend against the Crimson Tide to continue the winning streak in Athens. Georgia’s last win in Athens over Alabama came in 2003. The Bulldogs are 1-6 against Alabama under Smart, but none of those games have been at Sanford Stadium

A year ago, Alabama beat Georgia in Tuscaloosa in the first showdown of Kalen DeBoer’s tenure. The Tide lost to Florida State to open the 2025 season; a win on Saturday night could put Alabama back on track to make the CFP.

The implications are obvious on Saturday night: playoff positioning, SEC bragging rights and the chance to set the tone for the rest of the year. On3’s live blog will track the matchup with live updates, analysis and instant reaction. Follow along for the latest on No. 17 Alabama at No. 5 Georgia.
