Alabama at Oklahoma odds: Opening point spread released for first-round College Football Playoff game

Alabama will travel to Oklahoma for a matchup in the first-round of the College Football Playoff. Shortly after the matchup was announced, the opening odds and point spread have been revealed.

The Crimson Tide made the field as the No. 9 seed, while Oklahoma secured the final home game as the No. 8 seed. Alabama’s inclusion didn’t come without controversy, as they lost by multiple scores to Georgia in the SEC Championship game. This caused one of Notre Dame and Miami to be left out of the field, with the Fighting Irish being the one left out.

Still, the Crimson Tide has the stronger resume on paper of either team. For that, they were able to squeeze in past both the ‘Canes and Irish.

That sets up a rematch for Alabama against Oklahoma, who beat the Tide in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 15. Alabama is 0-2 vs. the Sooners since OU joined the SEC dating back to last year’s matchup in Norman. Alabama lost 24-3, keeping the Crimson Tide out of the 2024 College Football Playoff.

One year later, and these teams will play each other for a spot in the CFP quarterfinal. The winner gets to face No. 1 Indiana, who defeated Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game on Saturday.
