Alabama Football Recruiting: Crimson Tide trending toward another top class

One of the biggest questions surrounding Alabama choosing to hire Kalen DeBoer in 2024 was how he would handle recruiting against the country’s top football programs. Safe to say that was answered with a resounding ‘yes’ in the last cycle, when the Tide finished with the No. 3 class nationally.
After a year where they signed three five-stars and seven top-100 overall prospects, Alabama is now looking for another repeat. June brought a pair of massive pledges for the Tide via running back Ezavier Crowell and linebacker Xavier Griffin. And July started with some early fireworks as well, as five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan and five-star safety Jireh Edwards added their names to the commit list last week. They now headline the class alongside five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds — and give Alabama four five-star commitments and five players ranked in the top-40 nationally.
Coming into the month, the Tide sat just outside the top 10 of the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. They now check in at No. 5 and are also in position for potentially even more big commitments later this month.
Bama is a top contender for five-star EDGE Anthony Jones, one of the nation’s top pass-rushers. They also look to be trending with Rivals four-star quarterback Tayden Kaawa, and are in the mix with blue-chipper Elijah Golden. If DeBoer and his staff can close on those elite recruits, they’ll be in position to sign the top-ranked recruiting class this winter.
As for what’s currently in the class, Alabama holds 19 total commits. Thirteen of those are ranked as blue-chip prospects, with nine four-stars paired up with the aforementioned five-stars. And nine of their pledges rank among the top-100 nationally, one of the top marks in the country.
