2027 ATH Alexander Ward commits to Alabama
Marietta (Ga.) Walton 2027 athlete Alexander Ward announced his commitment to Alabama on Tuesday during a live broadcast on the On3 Recruiting YouTube Channel.
Ward posted a top six last week that included the Crimson Tide, Georgia, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Florida State and Auburn.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Ward was recruited to Alabama by Maurice Linguist and could play in the secondary or at wide receiver.
“What makes them right for me is the coaches and how they produce their players and how they develop them and get them ready for the next level and beyond the next level with life in general,” Ward explained.
“I really like the stadium and environment and campus,” Ward said. “I feel like it’s the perfect fit for me.”

Ward becomes commit No. 3 for Alabama early in the 2027 cycle joining edge rushers JaBarrius Garror and Ba’Roc Willis.
“I feel like it’s the perfect time to commit to a school instead of waiting like every body else,” Ward said. “Just to see who else is going to throw offers on the table. Some people say it’s early. I say it’s perfect timing and God’s plan in my opinion.”
As a sophomore Ward posted 18 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery. One of those picks he returned for a score. Ward added nine receptions for 152 yards and two touchdowns.
