Alabama transfer quarterback Dylan Lonergan commits to Boston College

Alabama transfer quarterback Dylan Lonergan is headed to the ACC. Lonergan has committed to Boston College after spending a pair of seasons at Alabama, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
The former four-star recruit played in one game while redshirting in 2023, before appearing in a pair of games this past season.
Dylan Lonergan will be reunited with Bill O’Brien at Boston College. The former Alabama offensive coordinator and current BC head coach was heavily involved in Lonergan’s recruitment out of high school.
The Georgia native completed 5 of 6 passes for 23 yards in 2024. He also one carry for 16 yards. During the 2023 season, Longegan was 2 of 2 passing for 12 yards.
Prior to attending Alabama, Dylan Lonergan was a four-star recruit, the No. 13 quarterback in the country and the No. 162 overall player in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
Lonergan attended Brookwood High School. As a junior in high school, he accounted for 3,932 yards and 39 touchdowns. Lonergan was selected to the Under Armour All-America game after his senior year.

Lonergan is joining a Boston College program that had a solid first year with Bill O’Brien in charge. The Eagles went 7-5 (4-4) in 2024 and are set to face Nebraska in the Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 28.
Boston College got off to a 4-1 start to the season, before dropping three straight games. However, the Eagles bounced back by winning three of their final four contests, including beating North Carolina and Pitt to close out the year.
Bill O’Brien is known as an excellent offensive coach, making him an attractive option for quarterbacks. He was previously the head coach at Penn State, head coach of the Houston Texans and the offensive coordinator at Alabama.
