In the wee hours of Thursday morning on the East coast, Alabama will be finishing up their game against No. 4 Arizona way out in Phoenix at the Footprint Center.

The Crimson Tide have certainly taken their lumps against some of the other elites of the college basketball landscape, but they’ll have one more chance before SEC play begins to notch a prized win vs. Arizona — and a victory in their home state over these Wildcats would absolutely be the best win the country to date this season. Meanwhile, AZ has an opportunity to add yet another quality win after a blazing start to non-conference play.

Ahead of this awesome late-night helping of college hoops, take a look below at the various point spreads and predictions for the ‘Cats vs. Tide.

Odds for Alabama vs. Arizona

According to the oddsmakers at FanDuel, Alabama is a pretty sizeable underdog at +7.5 points vs. Arizona. The Wildcats are obviously the other way at -7.5, but also hefty favorites on the money line at -315 to win the ball game, while ‘Bama gets the juice at +250.

FanDuel also expects a barnburner in this post-midnight bash as the over/under is set at 173.5, projecting that both teams be able to surpass 80. Or, at least, that one of these teams is likely to go off given that these are two of the most efficient offenses in the country.

Final score predictions for Alabama vs. Arizona

Our good buddy Ken Pomeroy has some sour news for Alabama, as he foresees them dropping their third straight game in this incredibly tough road challenge. He scores it 91-85 towards the Wildcats, also predicting a shootout.

However, don’t count out Alabama, says KenPom, who possess the No. 1 offense in his metrics-system so far this season. Despite tipping off near their bedtimes back east and playing a top-five team in their own backyard, he gives the Tide a 27% chance to win it.

According to ESPN’s BPI, the Basketball Power Index, Arizona is the unsurprising pick to win. It has the ‘Cats cruising to a victory of roughly 5.4 points while giving them a 67.2% chance to win the ball game overall, which is basically two-thirds.

And in a loaded night of college hoops, Alabama-Arizona ranks as the ESPN BPI’s third best matchup of Wednesday evening, earning a 90.0 matchup quality score. With this contest not tipping off until much later, fans can watch the top two matchups beforehand: North Carolina-Oklahoma (7 p.m. ET, ESPN) and Baylor-Duke (9 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Two of the better programs of the last couple of seasons — and two of the top-eight seeds in last spring’s NCAA Tournament — will do battle in a quasi-neutral site bash on the late, late slate. Will Mark Sears single-handedly outmatch this Arizona backcourt? Or will the Wildcats’ beef up front be too much for the thinner Crimson Tide to handle? Some of us will find out tonight, and others will have to wait until very early tomorrow morning — if your eye-lids can stay open.
