Alabama and Georgia went into another rain delay, a similar outcome to Saturday. The series is set to finish Sunday between the two teams.

Alabama led Georgia 5-2 going into the fifth inning. The Crimson Tide also beat the Bulldogs in the resumed game, 9-3, that picked up Sunday.

With no lightning or thunder reported, as of 3:07 p.m. ET, the rain delay was not expected to be long according to Alabama officials. Still, it’s a waiting game to finish the series.

Thankfully for fans of both teams, it didn’t last long. A mere 12 minutes after game officials made both teams exit, the game was set to resume in the top of the fifth at 3:12 p.m. ET. Less than 15 minutes for a delay? Pretty ideal.

Alabama beat Georgia in the delayed game earlier Sunday, highlighted by some program history. Closer Carson Ozmer broke the Crimson Tide single season record for most saves.

Now, he’ll stand as the leader in saves in program history, at least for a single season. It was Ozmer’s 15th save of the season, passing Ben Short (14).

Ozmer, a graduate student, transferred in this season from Penn. An Ivy League grad, Ozmer pitched for the Quakers for four seasons and was a two-way star there.

While at the plate, Ozmer posted a career .295 (51-173) average with 34 runs scored, 19 RBI, 11 doubles and two home runs in 95 games. He saw the bulk of his action in the lineup during his senior season, working 119 at-bats in 38 games (30 starts).

Ozmer is an alum of John H. Guyer High School in Denton, Texas. He was a three-year letter winner for the team and a two-time captain.

Alabama was 38-13 going into the rubber match against Georgia Sunday. The Crimson Tide are 14-12 in a loaded SEC for the 2025 baseball season.

As of the latest On3 NCAA Baseball Tournament projections, Alabama is in the field. They are projected to be No. 2 in the Dallas Regional.
