Alabama looked on its way to another undefeated season atop college football after picking up a win at Florida and crushing Ole Miss a week ago. With another electric offense and stingy defense, the Crimson Tide seemed unbeatable.

But on Saturday night in College Station, Texas A&M pulled off the upset of the season, shocking the Crimson Tide and putting the college football season on full tilt.

Jimbo Fisher called his shot earlier in the week, stating Texas A&M could shock Alabama if it prepared well. The former Nick Saban assistant executed his prediction, in the process handing his former boss his first loss to an unranked team since 2007.

Chaos in college football did not end there, though. Oklahoma pieced together the largest comeback in Red River Showdown history, all thanks to the play of freshman quarterback Caleb Williams. Iowa pulled out a win over a Penn State team that struggled to move the ball without quarterback Sean Clifford.

Michigan and Notre Dame each survived late-game pushes, picking up wins over Nebraska and Virginia Tech, respectively. And quietly in Columbus, Ohio State destroyed Maryland as the Buckeyes continue to pick up momentum.

Ole Miss and Arkansas combined for three touchdowns in the game’s final 90 seconds. Lane Kiffin threw his play sheet into the stands as the Rebels survived with a 52-51 victory.

Georgia smothered Auburn at Jordan-Hare, as the Bulldogs defense continues to roll at a historic pace. Auburn scored a third-quarter touchdown Saturday, just the first time Georgia has allowed a score in the period.

The Bulldogs are now the No. 1 team in college football and deservedly so. Without their starting quarterback, the offense has not slowed down. Stetson Bennett was 14 of 21 for two touchdowns in their convincing 34-10 win.

College football has nearly reached its halfway point. There are now 13 unbeaten teams in college football. And one of those teams is not Alabama. Hard to believe anyone saw this coming.

The AP Poll voters have voted. Here is where the top-25 stands after the some major movement over the weekend.

Winners, losers latest AP poll

Winners
Cincinnati: The Bearcats cruised to a 52-3 win over Temple on Friday night, but the upset-filled Saturday did them plenty of favors. With Alabama losing, they are now in the top four and squarely in position to make the College Football Playoff.

Iowa: The Hawkeyes picked up a win over Penn State then watched Alabama fall at Texas A&M. Now ranked as the No. 2 team in the nation, they have a clear path to the Big Ten championship game. Who they play there and the outcome will probably play a huge factor in their playoff hopes.

Texas A&M: The Aggies looked helpless a week ago, falling to Mississippi State and to 1-2 in the SEC play. But that changed Saturday night, and they’ve cracked the top 25 again.

Losers
Alabama: The Crimson Tide looked well on their way to an unbeaten season. But they lost at College Station. There’s still a path to the playoff, but they’ll need to be nearly perfect.

Kentucky: The Wildcats are 6-0 for the first time in well over 50 years. But while LSU and Florida look to be floundering, they are not rising up in the poll. They will have a chance to shock the nation when they visit Georgia this weekend.
