Arkansas vs TCU, Fayetteville Regional enters weather delay due to lightning

The Arkansas-TCU game is on hold due to a weather delay. The Razorbacks might be thankful for a moment to clear their heads.
Just three innings into the contest, TCU holds a commanding 14-1 lead. The blowout innings included back-to-back grand slams by TCU’s Tre Richardson. For reference, Richardson entered Sunday’s contest with two home runs this season.
Nonetheless, Richardson isn’t the only one enjoying the action. The Horned Frogs have 10 hits and 14 RBIs through three innings. Not to mention, TCU only has had 18 at-bats. Nobody should be overly shocked.
TCU has won 15 of its last 17 contests, including a 12-5 blowout over Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship. The Horned Frogs scored double-digit runs in all but one of their Big 12 Tournament games.

The Horned Frogs are putting on this standout performance against standout pitchers. Arkansas pitcher Hagan Smith started the game. Smith entered Sunday’s outing with a 2.69 ERA and 102 strikeouts, ranking top 40 in the nation.
After retiring Smith, Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn tried out Zack Morris and Austin Ledbetter. Obviously, he found success with neither option.
Arkansas will have six innings to mount a massive comeback. However, it won’t be easy. TCU’s game-high for runs is 18 this season. They are close to breaking that high through three innings against the No. 3 team in the country.
The game will resume at 5:05 p.m. ET.
