Report: Auburn freshman DL Antonio Coleman suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules

Just before the 2025 season begins a key Auburn player has been suspended. Coach Hugh Freeze informed reporters on Monday morning that freshman defensive lineman Antonio Coleman is suspended.
Per Justin Hokanson of AuburnOn3, Freeze noted Coleman is suspended “indefinitely.” He is suspended due to a violation of team rules.
Antonio Coleman is a freshman prospect who arrived on campus in January. He had the potential to get on the field early in 2025.
Prior to enrolling at Auburn, Coleman was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 201 overall recruit in the nation in the 2025 class. He also checked in as the No. 19 defensive lineman and the No. 12 overall player in the state of Alabama, hailing from Saraland (AL) Saraland.
Antonio Coleman choose Auburn over Alabama and Tennessee, primarily. According to the On3 recruiting database, Coleman visited Alabama eight times during the recruiting process.

Todd McShay high on Auburn’s offensive pieces
Following five consecutive seasons of hovering around bowl game eligibility for the Auburn football program, some real excitement is flowing through the fanbase prior to the 2025 season. A big part in this has to be the absolute superstars that head coach Hugh Freeze boasts in the wide receiver room.
Georgia Tech transfer wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. (On3’s No. 4 ranked transfer) and sophomore wide receiver Cam Coleman, who were both present in SEC Network analyst Chris Doering‘s top-five SEC receivers list, are two major targets for transfer quarterback Jackson Arnold.

NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay revealed that he is extremely high on both Singleton Jr. and Coleman’s potential on turning the program around, along with lauding the addition of Wake Forest wide receiver Horatio Fields.
“Eric Singleton. Burner. 104 (receptions) for 1468 (yards) and nine (touchdowns) in the last two years at Georgia Tech. Chess piece on offense,” McShay said during an episode of “The McShay Show”. “It’s not just Singleton, it’s Cam Coleman. And they added this guy Horatio Fields from Wake Forest, also really productive and highly sought after. So Hugh Freeze has got some dudes now. And they’ve got to believe in Jackson Arnold to make him the guy to operate this guy so that’s gonna be fascinating.”
