Big 12 Business Advisory Board includes Garth Brooks, Jason Kidd
The Big 12 Conference announced Monday the creation of the Business Advisory Board to assist with the conference’s business strategy. The 37-member Business Advisory Board includes Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd, singer Garth Brooks and executives from organizations including Albertsons, Fuddruckers, Goldman Sachs and the NBA.

“The Business Advisory Board will play a crucial role in creating the blueprint to growing our brand and business,” Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark said in a statement. “I appreciate each board member’s willingness to assist the Big 12 in crafting our business strategy. Every member brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the table, and I look forward to working with the entire board.”
The Big 12 is in the midst of major changes, including the start of Yormark’s tenure, the announcement of a new media rights deal and conference realignment.
In October, Yormark held a media blitz in New York City. He was previously the COO of Roc Nation, the full-service entertainment company that Jay-Z founded, and the co-CEO of Roc Nation Unified.
The Big 12 recently announced a six-year, $2.28-billion multimedia rights agreement with ESPN and FOX. Next summer, BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF will join the Big 12. Yormark said recently Oklahoma and Texas will remain in the conference until 2025, when they’ll join the SEC.
