Since the Big 12 brought back their conference championship game, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, has been the host venue. The two announced they would be extending their partnership, with the stadium nicknamed “Jerry World” hosting the event through the 2025 season.

Brand new Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark has accomplished one of his first tasks in charge of the conference. He called AT&T Stadium one of “the world’s finest” but said there’s a lot more to offer than just a football venue. He thinks the experience for fans in the area is top-notch throughout the entire event.

“We are pleased to extend our partnership with the Dallas Cowboys for another two years, and to continue holding our football championship in one of the world’s finest stadiums,” said Yormark. “The climate-controlled environment along with nearby hotels and the Texas Live! entertainment district provide our guests a best-in-class football experience.”

Dallas Cowboys Chief Operating Officer Stephen Jones also stated how excited everyone involved with the NFL franchise is to have the Big 12 Championship played at AT&T Stadium. He said the atmosphere within the stadium will never go away, even with how much college football is evolving on a daily basis.

“We have had an incredible partnership with the Big 12 Conference, so we are excited for the opportunity to host their football championship through 2025,” Jones said. “There has been a lot of change in college sports, but one thing will always remain, and that is, the atmosphere of college football when the conference championship is on the line…we are grateful to play a part in that experience for players and fans alike.”

More on Big 12 Championship, AT&T Stadium

The modern version of the Big 12 Championship has been around for the past five seasons, coming back in 2017. However, AT&T Stadium hosted the 2009 and 2010 versions as well before college football realignment caused the championship to go away for just under a decade.

Oklahoma has been dominant in Arlington, winning all five of their appearances at AT&T Stadium, which was formerly known as Cowboys Stadium. Texas also won there en route to a national championship appearance in 2009. Baylor, who won this past year, is the only other team to win a Big 12 Championship at “Jerry World.”

Now, as the Big 12 goes through a transition phase, at least one thing will remain true over the next few seasons. Whenever it comes time to crown a champion, AT&T Stadium will be the venue.
