Big 12 Conference mocks '33rd NFL team' claim from Michael Lombardi after TCU blowout of North Carolina

With everyone who came in upon the arrival of Bill Belichick, North Carolina had been carrying themselves as ‘the 33rd team’ in the NFL. However, after hardly looking like a good college team in their opener, the Big 12 was the latest to take a shot at the Tar Heels.
Following the 48-14 win for TCU over UNC in Chapel Hill, the Big 12 took to its official page on social media. The math worked out perfectly for the conference to take a dig at North Carolina’s label of themselves as the 33rd Team in the National Football League.
“A 34-point win over the 33rd Team,” posted those at the Big 12.
Again, a lot of people had a field day online following the 34-point loss after Belichick’s debut as a college head coach. That starts with TCU, who, after actually blowing them out on the field, took to social media with double-digit posts about the win, which all took aim at the incoming hype around the Tar Heels for their opener or that discounted the Horned Frogs because of that.
“I think we all felt a little disrespected, maybe coming in by there was a lot of conversation, and none of it was about us. And so I think we’re all highly motivated. Our players were certainly excited to play. Thought we did a great job,” Sonny Dykes told ESPN’s Holly Rowe on the field postgame. “North Carolina came out and executed really well the first drive. We got down early, and, man, it didn’t look great for us. Our guys just hung in there. And we really prepared well. Really proud of our guys, and they put a lot of work in, and we showed up today.”

That’s not to mention several other accounts that posted reacting to the blowout result on Labor Day night. Those were a result of what couldn’t have been a much worse opener for Chapel Bill.
Big 12 trolls Skip Bayless for North Carolina prediction
North Carolina raced out to a 7-0 over TCU on Monday, and it had analysts ready to champion Bill Belichick as the greatest thing to ever grace college football. Then, the rest of the game was played.
The Horned Frogs ended up scoring 41 unanswered points, winning 48-14 over the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill. Afterwards, the Big 12 Conference wanted all the smoke, including with Skip Bayless after he had predicted a blowout following UNC’s opening drive.
