The 2024 Big Ten Wrestling Championship semifinal matchups across all 10 weight classes were set after Session 1 of the tournament.

There were upsets, there was chaos and hey, it’s just the Big Ten Tournament right? This happens every single season. It was no different inside the Xfinity Center in Maryland.

Below are the semifinal matchups across all 10 weight classes.

125 lbs

No. 9 Dean Peterson (Rutgers) vs. No. 4 Patrick McKee (Minnesota)

No. 7 Michael DeAugustino (Michigan) vs. No. 6 Braeden Davis (Penn State)

A weight class with the top three seeds gone from the championship part of the bracket. The 125 insanity continued as it has all year in college wrestling.

133 lbs.

No. 1 Dylan Ragusin (Michigan) vs. No. 5 Aaron Nagao (Penn State)

No. 2 Dylan Shawver (Rutgers) vs. No. 14 Brody Teske (Iowa)

The top two guys advanced and Teske kept his Cinderella run alive. Sure, the Iowa Hawkeye is a veteran and a three-time NCAA qualifier, but his seed drew a lot of eyeballs this weekend.

141 lbs.

No. 1 Beau Bartlett (Penn State) vs. No. 5 Sergio Lemley (Michigan)

No. 2 Jesse Mendez (Ohio State) vs. No. 3 Real Woods (Iowa)

The Mendez-Woods matchup is what a lot of people wanted to see in this tournament. Meanwhile, the freshman Lemley was at it again and will get his crack at No. 1 Bartlett.

149 lbs.

No. 1 Ridge Lovett (Nebraska) vs. No. 4 Tyler Kasak (Penn State)

No. 2 Austin Gomez (Michigan) vs. N. 6 Ethen Miller (Maryland)

Lovett and Gomez were chalk on their sides of the bracket, as was Kasak who gets the top seed. But the home town kid Miller put on for the Maryland crowd, knocking off No. 3 Caleb Rathjen of Iowa.

157 lbs.

No. 1 Levi Haines (Penn State) vs. No. 4 Jared Franek (Iowa)

No. 7 Will Lewan (Michigan) vs. No. 3 Brayton Lee (Indiana)

Lewan stunned No. 2 Michael Blockhus in the quarterfinals with a pin in the second period. The Michigan man has a path while Haines and Franek will do battle again.

165 lbs.

No. 1 Dean Hamiti (Wisconsin) vs. No. 5 Antrell Taylor (Nebraska)

No. 2 Mitchell Mesenbrink (Penn State) vs. No. 3 Michael Caliendo (Iowa)

Almost all chalk here in this bracket, but there was an upset. Taylor knocked off No. 4 Caleb Fish of Michigan State in sudden victory to advance.

174 lbs.

No. 9 Andrew Sparks (Minnesota) vs. No. 4 Edmond Ruth (Illinois)

No. 2 Shane Griffith (Michigan) vs. No. 3 Patrick Kennedy (Iowa)

Sparks took the injury default win over Carter Starocci, who stepped on the mat for one second. He’s presumed to do the same in his next one for Penn State and receive an at large bid to NCAAs. The three-time champion will get more rest.

184 lbs.

No. 1 Isaiah Salazar (Minnesota) vs. No. 5 Jaden Bullock (Michigan)

No. 2 Lenny Pinto (Nebraska) vs. No. 3 Bernie Truax (Penn State)

Salazar looked great and Bullock edged out Ryder Rogotzke of Ohio State to get to the semis. Pinto and Truax sets up to be quite the semifinal clash.

197 lbs.

No. 1 Aaron Brooks (Penn State) vs. No. 4 Silas Allred (Nebraska)

No. 2 Jaxon Smith (Maryland) vs. No. 3 Zach Glazier (Iowa)

All chalk here as Brooks was dominant and gets last year’s Big Ten champion at this weight. Smith gets Glazier after knocking off No. 7 John Poznanski (Rutgers) in sudden victory.

285 lbs.

No. 1 Greg Kerkvliet (Penn State) vs. No. 4 Yaraslau Slavikouski (Rutgers)

No. 2 Nick Feldman (Ohio State) No. 3 Lucas Davison (Michigan)

The top four all advanced to the semifinals of this bracket. Now the Big Ten gets what it wants: a much anticipated rematch between Feldman and Davison.
