Brady Hunt injury update: Latest revealed on South Carolina TE vs. Vanderbilt

On Saturday, No. 11 South Carolina (2-0) and Vanderbilt (2-0) will square off inside the Gamecocks’ Williams-Brice Stadium. This meeting will be the first SEC matchup of the season for each team.
As usual, the teams must reveal their injury reports in the week leading up to the game. All eyes are on South Carolina tight end Brady Hunt, who exited the Gamecocks’ 38-10 win over SC State after just six snaps.
Of course, Vanderbilt has its fair share of players battling injury as well, including defensive lineman Yilanan Ouattara. For the complete injury report, look below.
South Carolina:
Out:
DB Judge Collier
Probable:
TE Brady Hunt
Vanderbilt:
Questionable:
DL Yilanan Ouattara
Despite the team’s 2-0 start to the season, South Carolina certainly needs its offense to step up if it wants to take down Vanderbilt this weekend. The Gamecocks’ offense struggled against SC State, only amassing 253 total yards.
South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers completed 11-of-his-19 pass attempts for 128 yards and a touchdown. It was a slow day for Sellers, who entered the season as the preseason All-SEC First-Team QB.
Luckily for South Carolina, Vicari Swain made up for its offensive woes. The cornerback returned two punts for touchdowns in the victory. Alas, Swain left the game early and was “banged up,” according to head coach Shane Beamer.
With Swain already tied for the most punt return TDs in a single season in program history, South Carolina needs Swain to heal up quickly. After all, Vanderbilt will present the Gamecocks with a grueling challenge.

The Commodores looked excellent this past weekend, blowing out Virginia Tech in 44-20 fashion. In the triumph, Vanderbilt’s defense was stifling, holding the Hokies to just 248 yards of total offense.
Of course, Vanderbilt wasn’t perfect, either. The team committed a whopping 11 penalties for a total loss of 77 yards. They can’t afford to have a similar lack of discipline against South Carolina. Commodores head coach Clark Lea is excited for the challenge.
“Excited to take this team on the road in the league. Play against a really good South Carolina team in a great environment,” Lea said. “We’re going to have to play really well, so we are challenged with that. That’s also what you sign up for. I think it’s a great test. This is a South Carolina team that in all three phases, they are as good as anybody.”
The Gamecocks and Commodores will meet on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. ET. The game will air live on the SEC Network.
