Coveted 2028 QB Brady Quinn set for return visit to Notre Dame

Notre Dame had a huge run of success with Brady Quinn as their quarterback in the early 2000s, as he secured two top-4 finishes in the Heisman Trophy voting and led the team to a pair of BCS bowl games.
Could another player by the same name be the Fighting Irish’s future at the position? 2028 quarterback Brady Quinn — of no relation — is one of their early targets in the rising sophomore class exactly 25 years after the player with his namesake signed with ND in 2003.
The Naples (Fla.) First Academy passer is one of the top young passers in the country, making it onto On3’s top-100 watchlist for his class earlier this spring. There’s no family connection, but the younger Quinn’s father, Steve, is a huge Notre Dame fan and named his son in honor of the former Irish great, according to BlueandGold.com’s Mike Singer.
Quinn holds offers from more than a dozen programs, including Miami, UCF, Syracuse, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Louisville and more.
He visited Notre Dame last month, and though he has yet to earn an offer, he looks to be one of their top targets heading into his sophomore season.

“The trip was great — one of the best visits I’ve had so far,” Quinn told Blue & Gold. “They have a great program, and the facilities and campus are amazing. … Practice was very competitive, super-fast paced and lots of competition between the offense and defense. I thought it was great, and I love how Coach Gino [Guidugli] coaches.”
Despite just being a freshman, Quinn showed why he’s one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the country. In 12 games, he completed 176 of 316 passes for 2,549 yards with 33 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.
He led First Baptist Academy to multiple playoff victories, and in a second-round win against Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Benjamin, Quinn threw for 337 yards with 5 touchdowns while completing 23 of his 33 passing attempts.
