Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star offensive tackle Brandon Baker holds offers from nearly every major Power Five program up to this point in his recruitment. With those offers, he has no shortage of options for where he could play during his college career.

Baker’s begun to narrow those choices down announcing his top 10 schools. The list includes Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas and Washington.

The 6-foot-4.5, 285-pounder is the No. 21 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in California.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Oregon is the overwhelming favorite to land Baker’s pledge at this point. The Ducks currently sit 84.6%.

Baker’s visited Eugene six times already with the latest coming on May 20.

While he hasn’t taken an official to Oregon this month, Baker did take one to Ohio State to kick off the month. That was his second trip to Columbus and the Buckeyes checked every box for him during the trip.

Baker called Ohio State “an A1 place to be” and noted that he was impressed with the coaches and how they develop their players.

“Ohio State is just the standard I am looking for,” Baker told On3 after the visit. “I had been there before, so I didn’t have too many questions, but they did a great job with me. My expectations weren’t too high, but they set the bar pretty high.

“I definitely felt better about Ohio State at the end of the visit. Spending time with Justin Frye, sitting down with Ryan Day and just seeing how they laid everything out there for me made an impact on me.”

Baker’s two other scheduled official visits this month are to Texas (June 16) and Georgia (June 23).

“It will be the same for me at Texas as it was at Ohio State,” Baker said. “It is about the player development and what plan coach Kyle Flood has for me. I will get a feel for things, see what the energy is like and compare how I feel there to how I felt at Ohio State.

“The Georgia way they play speaks for itself. They are back-to-back national champions, they have the No. 1 recruiting class and I love the way Georgia works. I want to sit down with them to see their plan for me and see if I could fit in. I know I like how Georgia plays, so I need to see how I fit in.”
