Brock Bowers is questionable entering Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided a positive update on the Raiders TE’s status before kickoff.

“Pete Carroll himself says he expects Brock Bowers to play,” Schefter said of the star tight end on Monday Night Coundown. “He looked terrific at practice on Saturday. He was wearing a sleeve over his left knee and they are listing him as questionable. So I do think there is always that lingering question until he’s officially active, but they’re preparing right now as if he will play.

“That could always change, questionable status. I don’t think he’s going to be at full strength tonight but they’re planning to have him out there.”

Bowers did not practice during the week, but was a limited participant on Saturday. His involvement in Saturday’s practice opened the door for him to play, and it appears Las Vegas will put attempt to put him on the field against their divisional foe. It’s unclear whether he’ll play on a snap count against the Charger.

Bowers, who just began his second season in the National Football League, hauled in five receptions for 103 yards during the 20-13 season opening win against the New England Patriots. He is coming off a strong rookie season, in which he totaled 112 receptions for 1,194 yards — both rookie record — and five touchdowns. Similar production is expected during his sophomore season if he can stay healthy.

Speaking with reporters Monday, head coach Pete Carroll revealed that the tight end is considered “day-to-day.” He added that the longer week of preparation with the Raiders playing on Monday Night Football will give Bowers a bit more time to recover than usual. It appears this may have aided in his ability to suit up.

The Raiders selected Bowers with the 13th overall pick out of Georgia in the 2024 NFL Draft. He’s been as advertised since entering the league, and Las Vegas hopes to have him back at full strength sooner rather than later.

Kickoff is set for 10 p.m. ET. The game will air live on ESPN as a part of the Week 2 Monday Night Football double-header which includes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Houston Texans.

The Raiders are a 3.5-point underdog against the Chargers in Las Vegas, according to BetMGM. The over/under is set at 46.5 total points.
