Brutus the Buckeye uses snow to cross out letter 'M' in Michigan end zone
The Michigan–Ohio State rivalry knows no boundaries, especially when it comes to Brutus’ support of his Buckeyes. The Ohio State mascot even went as far as to cross out the “M” in Michigan in the end zone.
He was able to due to the snow falling in Ann Arbor. The devilish grin he must have right now!
You can see Brutus’ handiwork below, as Ohio State led Michigan 24-9 in the third quarter Saturday. The Buckeyes came into Saturday looking to wrap up an undefeated regular season and punch a ticket to the Big Ten title game vs. Indiana.
Michigan threw out some big punches to start the game, including a 6-0 lead and forcing a Julian Sayin interception. But there was a near ejection, a controversial touchdown by the Buckeyes and lack of a consistent Wolverines’ offense going into halftime and throughout the third quarter.
Michigan linebacker Jaishawn Barham was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct in the first quarter vs. Ohio State for contacting an official. The Wolverines’ defender seemed to be arguing with the referee and was unhappy, thus leaning into him and practically headbutted him.

It was Barham’s first unsportsmanlike penalty, so he was not ejected from the game. Instead of a third-and-goal, Ohio State was granted an automatic first down, trailing the Wolverines 6-0.
Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt called Barham “lucky” to not be thrown out. Ohio State scored a touchdown on a one-yard run by QB Julian Sayin on third-and-goal a few plays later, but the score went under review, causing more chaos. After review, he was ruled short and it was fourth and goal for the Buckeyes. Luckily for the Wolverines, the Buckeyes committed a false start penalty and had to settle for a 20-yard field goal, cutting the lead 6-3.
But once WR Jeremiah Smith scored a touchdown, despite apparently bobbling the football going into the end zone, the Buckeyes did not look back. Having lost four straight to Michigan, hanging on for a victory Saturday would go a long way. Brutus certainly could have one of the highlights of the day too!
