Florida and Ole Miss are set to meet in a game that has significantly different importance for each program. Naturally, the injury report will loom large in the meeting.

The Gators have been absolutely decimated by injuries and have lost their last two games. They’ll be hard pressed to field a fully competent squad, particularly when it comes to the receiver position.

But the Rebels also have some holes due to injury as they press for a playoff berth. They just aren’t quite as wide or as glaring. Last week, for example, Lane Kiffin listed just one player on his availability report prior to a game against South Carolina.

So who will suit up this week and who will be out? Well, the Wednesday availability report for Florida and Ole Miss can offer some early insight.

Florida Gators

Questionable:
WR Taylor Spierto
OL Roderick Kearney

Doubtful:
DL Caleb Banks

Out:
WR Eugene Wilson III
WR Dallas Wilson
ILB Ty Jackson
EDGE LJ McCray
DB Aaron Gates
DB Micheal Caraway Jr.
RB Ja’Kobi Jackson
DB Dijon Johnson
DB Javion Toombs

Ole Miss Rebels

Out:
LB Raymond Collins

Questionable:
CB Antonio Kite
DT Jeffery Rush
DT Jamarious Brown

The big news of the week for Florida this week is that talented receiver Eugene Wilson III has been shelved for the season following an injury. He’s just that latest in a long line of injuries at the receiver position for Florida.

In addition to Wilson, freshman Dallas Wilson has been ruled out for the contest due to injury. Meanwhile, receivers Vernell Brown III and Aidan Mizell were both listed on last week’s report ahead of the Kentucky game. Both have tried to gut it out through injury.

But suffice it to say Florida will be down on some numbers at the skill positions. Running back Ja’Kobi Jackson and running back Duke Clark have both missed time in recent weeks.

On the Ole Miss side, there weren’t many injuries to circle a week ago. The only player listed on the team’s availability report then was cornerback Antonio Kite. He was tabbed a game-time decision against the Gamecocks.

Could other names pop up on the list for either team? Could a name or two roll off, particularly for Florida? We’ll have to stay tuned throughout the week leading to Saturday’s kickoff.

Florida and Ole Miss are set to meet on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
